I'm a New York-based writer and director focused on telling stories rooted in human experience. I started out in Amsterdam, working as an editor on documentaries and fiction. My work in creative direction and editing for VFX studios gave me the chance to co-direct commercials for Lamborghini, Porsche, and Audi. This experience led me to become a director.
Although my commercial work emphasizes strong visuals, I always aim to bring social realism to the performances. This approach is perhaps evident in projects like "Audi: The Comeback." Over the years, I’ve worked with brands such as Adidas, Apple, Audi, BMW, Beats, Mazda, Nike, LVMH, Sony, Toyota, and Ubisoft, which have earned a bunch of awards, but I always try to stay connected and be hands on in both fiction and non-fiction filmmaking, producing, writing, shooting, directing and editing.
In recent years, I’ve been selective in directing branded projects, choosing to concentrate more on honing my craft as a screenwriter. This focus has resulted in four completed feature scripts. "Sky King," which is in pre-production, explores the life of Richard Russell, known for stealing a plane in a dramatic act that captured public attention. Currently I'm writing "Keep it Simple Stupid," a film that humanizes the shadowy world of the military-industrial complex in the 1970s and ‘80s. Additionally, I’m developing "1986 (w.t.)," a feature set in the UK and Europe about the dramatic death of a rally car driver witnessed by his friend and documentarian during the final year of Group B rally racing.
